Semen Analysis Software from Microptic

The SCA®2002 is an automatic system, measuring sperm morphology, concentration and motility.  In the motility module it captures 25 images per second up to a maximum of 100 images.  Real time data processing generates a very comprehensive report in which graphics and images may be incorporated.

In the morphology module, images of spermatozoa may be captured either automatically or manually.  Actual images are displayed alongside the mask, which has coloured overlays to indicate the head, the acrosome area and the midpiecePersonalised reports are generated which also contain the images of each analysed sperm.

Other available modules include a concentration module (according to WHO guidelines), a DNA fragmentation module and a counting module which may be customised.  Also available from Microptic S.L. is a Karyotyping package – MetaClass.

Sperm Class Analyzer® provides fast, accurate and objectively repeatable results. This would be impossible to attain using traditional (subjective) methods. The following modules are available for the system:

Motility
The system provides immediately and objectively detailed results of motility and concentration in a complete report.

Morphology
Following a manual or automatic image capture, a precise morphological and morphometric analysis of each spermatozoid is provided in real time.

Concentration

For determining the concentration of sperm using an Hæmocytometer.

Vitality

Results for the analyses are presented in numerical and graphical formats.

Yield

For fast-track sperm analysis, you obtain a reliable and objective result for the motility, morphology and concentration of the sperm. These parameters are then combined to give the number of doses that can be obtained from the ejaculate.

The software is very simple and user-friendly. The system can be used in varying optical conditions and for the semen of several species.

A limited (Lite) version is also available. The difference being that certain results for each spermatozoid are not available and graphics cannot be included in reports.
